APA has promoted Carlos Carreras to senior vp, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
Carreras represents some of APA’s biggest clients, including Gina Rodriguez, Lili Taylor, Peter Facinelli and William Fichtner, as well as Emmy nominee Richard Cabral (American Crime), Grace Gealey (Empire), Santiago Cabrera (Transformers: The Last Knight, Big Little Lies), Ashley Zukerman (Manhattan), Harrison Gilbertson (Need for Speed), Jordi Molla (In the Heart of the Sea), Olaf Darri Olafsson (Lady Dynamite), Damon Harriman (Flesh and Bone), Matias Varelas (Assassin’s Creed), Alexa Penavega (Machete Kills) and Carlos Penavega (Grease Live).
Carreras joined APA in 2012 and was elevated to vp two years later. He was previously an agent at UTA, where he represented many of the agency’s top Latinx clients, including Jenifer Lopez, Jimmy Smits and Wilmer Valderrama. The Boston Conservatory alumnus is a repeat honoree of the Imagen Foundation, which named him one of the most influential and powerful Latinos in Hollywood in 2013, and The Hollywood Reporter ranked him No. 17 on its Latin Power 50 list in 2007.
“Carlos has done an amazing job since joining APA,” the agency’s head of talent and executive vice president Ryan Martin said in a statement. “His contributions and achievements have played an integral role in our overall growth and success, and I’m very proud to reward his accomplishments with this well-deserved promotion.”
