American World Pictures locked down sales for a number of territories for Damien Lee’s “The Poet,” starring Darryl Hannah, Roy Scheider, Kim Coates and Colm Feore, at the American Film Market, which ends Wednesday.
In the World War II drama, Hannah plays a mother who urges her son (Jonathan Scarfe), a disenchanted German soldier to find true love. Scheider plays a rabbi, hiding from the Nazis.
AWP, the L.A.-based production and distribution company headed by president Mark L. Lester, sold the film to distributors in the U.K., South Africa, Turkey, Portugal, Benelux, Brazil, Norway, Poland, Germany, Middle East, Russia, France and Spain.
