Kathy Bates has joined Michelle Pfeiffer and Ashton Kutcher in the dramatic love story “Personal Effects,” which David Hollander is directing for Insight Studios.
The movie, written by Hollander, sees Kutcher as a young man seeking vengeance for the murder of his sister, but when he arrives in town, he is sidetracked by a beautiful older woman (Pfeiffer) with wounds very similar to his own.
Bates is playing Kutcher’s mother.
Production is due to start in Vancouver this month.
Gil Netter is producing along with Insight’s Kirk Shaw, Tadora’s Christian Arnold-Beutel and CineFilm’s Tim McGrath.
Oscar winner Bates, repped by ICM, has “Fred Claus” and “Bee Movie” in theaters and next will be seen in “P.S., I Love You.”
