HONG KONG – The 13th running of the Beijing Screenings, China’s new movie showcase for distributors, has been postponed from September to October.
China Film Group and the China Film Promotion International announced Thursday that the Screenings will now be held October 27-30. They were originally planned for September 23-26.
Organizers describe the rescheduling as a case of force majeure brought about by the massive preparations for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The national festivities are certain to put a premium on hotel accommodation, travel facilities and executives’ commitments.
