Bosnia and Herzegovina announced Ines Tanovic‘ Nasa Svakodnevna Prica (Our Everyday Life) as the country’s entry in the foreign language film Oscar race.
The announcement was published on the Association of Filmmakers of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s website, an organization that has been in charge of naming a local entry for the last 15 years.
Our Everyday Life, a family drama focused on relations between a father, mother and son, competed with Nenad ?uric‘s Hiljadarka (Thousand) and Cristobal Krusen‘s Sabina K., the association said.
The film premiered this week in the competition section at the Sarajevo Film Festival. It was produced by DOKUMENT and stars Jasna Ornela Beri, Emir Hadzihafizbegovic and Uliks Fehmiu.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s last Oscar success dates back to 2002, when Danis Tanovic‘s No Man’s Land won a statuette in the best foreign language film category. Since then, no film from Bosnia and Herzegovina has been shortlisted.
