Brent Poer has been named executive vice president and creative director for LiquidThread North America, which makes him the lead executive on the 18-month-old digital content creation unit of Starcom MediaVest Group.
Poer, based in Los Angeles, will report to Brian Terkelsen, global president of SMG LiquidThread. He will have oversight of a 65-person team of content producers based in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Toronto.
“He brings incredible depth of experience to the role,” said Terkelsen, “having developed breakthrough content spanning digital, television, social, mobile and more for many of the most iconic brands in the world including P&G, Microsoft, Walmart and Mattel.
Poer gets his promotion after serving as EVP, Managing Director, of the West Coast MediaVest office and LiquidThread capability. His projects included Microsoft “TV to Bing About” with the CW, the first advertising program.
Poer previously spent four years at MedaVest working with Terkelsen on a predecessor venture to LiquidThread and overseeing talent and production for more than 100 client brands.
Before MediaVest, Poer led marketing programs for Lifetime Networks. He began his career at Reebok. He was also General Manager of theWB.com.
In April 2010, Starcom MediaVest Group merged three content units — Connectivetissue, Starcom Entertainment and Pixel – to create LiquidThread.? It is designed to create branded content for all kinds of platforms, including social media.
Starcom MediaVest is part of the Publicis Groupe, a public company listed on the Euronext Paris Exchange.
