Bruce Rosenblum has inked a deal to continue as president of Warner Bros. Television Group through at least 2013, overseeing Warner Bros.’ entire portfolio of television businesses, including worldwide production, distribution, broadband and broadcasting.
Additionally, Warner Bros. Television president Peter Roth is said to be close to extending his contract through 2013.
Since taking the reins of WBTVG in 2005, Rosenblum has spearheaded the company’s digital strategy in VOD, broadband, wireless and original content production.
WBTVG’s highlights in that area include the successful TMZ.com, its joint venture with AOL, and the upcoming ad-supported digital networks TheWB.com and KidsWB.com. The company also launched Studio 2.0, which produces original programming for broadband and wireless devices.
Additionally, Rosenblum was one of the architects of the deal with CBS Corp. to launch the CW and, with Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Barry Meyer, he oversees the company’s interest in the network.
The TV divisions under Rosenblum’s oversight include primetime powerhouse Warner Bros. TV, which will produce 20 series for next season; cable/unscripted division Warner Horizon TV, which is behind “The Bachelor,” “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” and the “Truth in Advertising” for TNT; syndication unit Telepictures Prods., home of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Tyra Banks Show,” “TMZ” and the upcoming “The Bonnie Hunt Show”; and Warner Bros. Animation.
