PARIS — French pay TV group Canal Plus saw a 7% rise in income during the first nine months of the year to 1.3 billion euros ($1.9 billion), the group said Thursday.
Revenue for the third trimester rose 9% to 431 million euros ($630.8 million). “This progression is a result of both an increase in subscriptions and advertising revenue,” Canal Plus said in a statement.
Total subscriptions reached 5.22 million, an increase of 126,000 viewers compared with the same period in 2006.
Subscribers to the group’s basic TV package “Canal Plus Le Bouquet” represents 68% of total subscriptions over the period.
