CANNES – Pandastorm Pictures has snatched German-speaking rights to Francis Ford Coppola’s horror thriller Twixt from Pathe Pictures.
The film stars Val Kilmer as Hall Baltimore, a “bargain basement Stephen King” who, after arriving in a small town on part of a book tour, gets involved in a murder mystery involving a young girl. Elle Fanning, Bruce Dern and Ben Chaplin also star.
Twixt bowed at the Toronto Film Festival last year. Pandastorm plans to release the film in Germany and Austria late this year.
In another deal signed at Cannes’ Marche du Film, Pandastorm picked up multiple territories on The Echo, a horror mystery title from QED International.

The film, from the executive producers of The Ring and The Grudge, focuses on Bobby Walker, an ex-con forced to live in his dead mother’s apartment as a condition of his parole. He is haunted by echoes of the dead and begins to suspect his neighbors may have been involved in his mother’s death. Jesse Bradford (Flags of our Fathers) stars.
Pandastorm took rights for the title in the U.K., German-speaking Europe and Benelux.
