The Cinema Audio Society on Monday announced nominees for two technical achievement awards, which will be presented Feb. 16 during the 44th annual CAS Awards at the Millennium Biltmore.
Nominations for outstanding product used in production are the Aaton Cantar X2, Schoeps CMIT 5U, Fostex PD606, Sonosax SX-STD Mixer and Zaxcom Deva 5.8. Vying in the postproduction product category are the iZotope RX, Cedar DNS 2000, Nuendo 4, Euphonix S5 Fusion and Digidesign Icon.
CAS also said that the emcee for the evening will be “KTLA Morning News” entertainment reporter Sam Rubin, who also hosts “Live From the Academy Awards” and red-carpet coverage for VH1 and E!
The CAS Awards will honor achievements in sound mixing in five categories. In addition, Dennis Sands will receive the Career Achievement Award, and Bill Condon will be awarded the CAS Filmmaker Award.
