"I dress the place up to look like a movie studio. I bring all the Winnebagos to the front; I have people pushing sets around, like one of those old Cecil B. DeMille movies. So they come for two days every two, three months, and we look like we're a bustling metropolis, and then we go back to being a regular old business."

NEW YORK – Cable giant Comcast Corp. said Wednesday that it has promoted Neil Smit, giving him the added title of CEO of Comcast Cable Communications.
He has already served as president of the cable systems unit of the country’s largest U.S. pay TV operator.
Smit, who joined the firm in March 2010, is responsible for all aspects of the company’s cable business and reports to Comcast chairman and CEO Brian Roberts.
“Neil has done a phenomenal job,” said Roberts. “He has driven innovation, improved the customer experience, increased the speed of the introduction of new products and has expanded our company into new opportunities for profitable growth.”
Smit joined Comcast from Charter Communications where he was CEO from 2005 until 2010. Before that, he was president of the then-Time Warner-owned America Online access business.
