Dan Le Batard’s radio show finally has a new home. Sort of.
The former ESPN host’s flagship Dan Le Batard Show will be distributed by DraftKings as part of a wide-reaching distribution and content agreement between the sports-betting giant and Meadowlark Media, the content studio founded by Le Batard and former ESPN president John Skipper.
As part of the deal, DraftKings will distribute Meadowlark’s content “across a wide range of audio, TV, digital and social channels,” with odds, betting trends and fantasy sports content integrated into the programming. In addition, DraftKings will also commission original programming that Meadowlark will develop and produce.
“We’re thrilled to find a collaborator in DraftKings that shares our vision to grow Dan Le Batard’s already wildly popular network of shows in non-conventional ways,” said Skipper in a statement. “With the freedom to widely distribute these programs, we’ll be able to reach the largest possible audience and provide incredible content to DraftKings.”
The deal expands DraftKings’ push into content, which is being led by recent hire Brian Angiolet. The company last month announced a deal to buy Vegas Sports and Information Network (VSiN) and is exploring other content opportunities as well.
Meadowlark Media, meanwhile, raised $12.6 million earlier this month in a funding round that included DraftKings. The company has struck advisory deals with talent like Jemele Hill and Michael Schur, and is producing a podcast featuring Hank Azaria’s fictional sportscaster Jim Brockmire.
