Robberies are in Matt Dillon’s future.
The actor is in final negotiations to appear in “Armored” and “Bone Deep” for Sony’s Screen Gems.
“Bone Deep” revolves around a group of bank robbers who team to pull off a $20 million heist, but their plans are intercepted by Dillon’s character, Los Angeles Detective Jack Welles.
Overbrook Entertainment’s Will Packer is producing with John Luessenhop directing. Luessenhop and Avery Duff rewrote the script. The original was penned by Gabriel Casseus and Peter Allen.
“Armored,” directed by Nimrod Antal (“Vacancy”), is about two armored car guards — played by Dillon and Columbus Short (“Stomp the Yard”) — who plan to empty their truck of $10 million. Sam Raimi, Josh Donen and Dan Farah are producing. Chris Lemos and Luis Guerrero are co-exec producing. James V. Simpson wrote the screenplay.
Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and senior vp production Eric Paquette will oversee “Armored” for the studio.
Dillon’s upcoming projects include “Nothing but the Truth,” with Kate Beckinsale, Vera Farmiga and Angela Bassett, and “Old Dogs,” co-starring Robin Williams and John Travolta.
Short will appear in the upcoming Screen Gems film “This Christmas.”
Dillon is represented by CAA and Vick Ramos Management. Short is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and attorney Craig Emanuel of Loeb & Loeb.
