Disney Channel has beefed up its marketing department by hiring Frank Keating as vp marketing and upping Ron Pomerantz to vp creative director and Veronica Davidson to vp on-air promotion, production.
In his new role, Keating is responsible for all off-channel marketing initiatives for Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Toon Disney and Jetix brands.
Keating recently oversaw off-channel marketing programs for the launches of the upcoming original movie “High School Musical 2,” the sequel to the Disney Channel hit, and the new Playhouse Disney series “My Friends Tigger & Pooh,” each with a comprehensive print, cable, radio, online and promotional tie-in marketing campaign.
Before joining Disney Channel, Keating was vp marketing at Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Inc.
Pomerantz, who was executive creative director at Disney Channel, has been upped to vp creative director at Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney and ABC Kids. In his new role, Pomerantz is responsible for the creative direction of all on-air promotion and branding.
He recently oversaw the relaunch of Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney’s new on-air looks as well as the launch of the hit Disney Channel series “Cory in the House” and “Jump In!” the network’s highest-rated original movie to date.
Before joining the network last year, Pomerantz was executive director, creative, at Walt Disney Co.-owned SoapNet. He led the channel’s 2002 relaunch, earning awards from Promax, the Cable Television Marketing Assn. and the Cable Television Public Affairs Assn.
Davidson oversees all on-air and graphic promotional material produced for Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Toon Disney and Jetix. She also oversees the communication and distribution of all promotional materials for the different platforms worldwide and developed, implemented and manages the global asset site.
Her responsibilities also include the strategic promotional planning of launches and other promotional initiatives for Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney, and she most recently oversaw the relaunch of Playhouse Disney and Disney Channel.
Before Davidson promotion, she was executive director of on-air promotion, production.
All three executives report to Richard Loomis, senior vp marketing and creative at Disney Channel U.S.
