Disneyland suffered a power outage on Wednesday, stopping some of the park’s operations, officials confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The outage affected Toontown and Fantasyland, park spokeswoman Elva Rubalcava told THR.
Around 3:30 p.m., the Associated Press reported power had “largely” been restored to the affected areas. At 6:07 p.m. the AP reported that power had been “fully restored” at the amusement park.
Less than an hour after, Disneyland’s official Twitter feed issued an apology, stating, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience to all of our Guests who were impacted by today’s power outage at Disneyland. We are happy to report that all attractions are fully operational.”
Guests on rides when the power went out were escorted off by employees, she said. Guests were not asked to leave the areas, though.
News of the outage spread quickly on social media with patrons posting pictures of halted park attractions. One of the park’s official Twitter accounts noted it was a busy day for attendance at the resort. Around 1 p.m., a separate official park account tweeted no new guests would be admitted into Disneyland.
Disney California Adventure Park remained open and unaffected by the outage.
PARKS UPDATE: Disneyland Park is currently only accepting Guests for re-entry at this time. Disney California Adventure Park remains available for your enjoyment. Updates to follow.
