NEW YORK — Radio talk show host Don Imus is on his way to the Fox Business Network under a multi-year deal.
The nationally syndicated “Imus in the Morning” will be simulcast on the financial news channel, starting Oct. 5, Monday through Friday from 6am to 9am ET.
The company didn’t disclose financial details.
The current 7am-9am ET show “Money for Breakfast,” hosted by Alexis Glick, will have its final edition on Oct. 2. Glick will continue anchoring “Opening Bell” in the 9-10am slot and serving as FBN’s vp for business news.
“We’re excited to welcome a renowned broadcaster like Don Imus to the Fox Business team,” said FBN executive vp Kevin Magee. “His 40 years of on-air experience combined with his superb interviewing skills and capitalist sensibilities will be a great addition to our lineup.”
Said Imus: “I love Fox. Roger Ailes is the preeminent genius of American Broadcasting. Who wouldn’t want to do this?”
The program will incorporate additional business news into its format.
In addition to the Imus team, FBN’s Jenna Lee, Connell McShane and Ashley Webster, co-anchors of “Fox Business Morning,” will appear frequently on “Imus in the Morning” to cover breaking financial news and pre-market action. They will also co-host a new live online morning program entitled “Foxbusiness.com Live Morning Edition,” which will stream weekdays from 6-9am ET.
