ROME — Tarak Ben Ammar’s newest acquisition, Eagle Pictures, will produce and distribute six films a year, the company said Thursday, a shift for a company best known for buying rights to Hollywood fare and distributing it across Italy.
Eagle, which has a 6% market share in Italy, did not say what types of films it would develop as part of the plan.
Ben Ammar acquired a 75% stake of Eagle last week in a deal reported to be worth at least 80 million euros ($118 million).
