COLOGNE, Germany – Mike Capps, president of U.S. games developer Epic Games, will give the keynote address at this year’s Games Developers Conference Europe. The Rockville, Maryland-based Epic is behind the hit Gears of War video game franchise as well as role playing title Infinity Blade, a hot seller on Apple’s App store.
Epic also developed the Unreal game engine, which is used in many PC games.
Capps’ keynote will focus on the challenges of developing titles for platforms ranging from high-end consoles to mobile phones and online shareware.
The GDC Europe conference, Europe’s leading confab for games developers, runs Aug.15-17 in Cologne, Germany.
