The E.W. Scripps Co., parent of 19 local TV stations and newspapers in 13 markets, paid its CEO, Richard Boehne, $1.8 million in 2013, down from $3.6 million a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.
Boehne’s drop in wages is due to non-equity incentive plan compensation that was $936,700 in 2012 but only $49,742 last year. Also, a change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation added $921,935 in 2012 and nothing this year.
Timothy Wesolowski, the CFO, earned $701,093 this year, down from $917,795 a year earlier.
Brian Lawlor, senior vice president of television, earned $849,607, down from $1.4 million; Timothy Stautberg, senior vice president of newspapers, earned $809,698, down from $1.5 million; and general counsel William Appleton was paid $733,849, down from $977,683.
