Gillian Brooks Fischer has been upped to senior vp field publicity and promotions at New Line Cinema. She was director of publicity and promotions. Fischer, who joined the company in 2000, will continue to oversee the operations of New Line’s 25 field agencies as well as running junkets and promotions for all of the company’s domestic releases. She reports to Elissa Greer, senior vp publicity at New Line.
Sabry Mohideen has been named vp and chief financial officer of Bravo. Mohideen will have responsibility for the financial oversight for Bravo, including the development of the network’s strategic and long-range plans, working closely with Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick. Mohideen joins NBC Universal after 10 years at Viacom, where he most recently was senior vp and head of international finance at MTV Networks. … Also promoted at Bravo are Francesca Sullivan, to vp multiplatform program planning, and Carolyn Hommel, to director of program planning. Sullivan serves as the program-planning liaison with ad sales. Her responsibilities include developing the upfront program strategy and scatter-market planning. Hommel will continue to collaborate on long-range program planning and devise strategic scheduling options and stunts.
Edward Derse has been promoted to vp interactive media at Fox Sports International. He is responsible for management and operations of Fox Sports International’s Internet, broadband, IPTV and wireless initiatives. Derse has been with Fox Sports’ parent News Corp. since 2000, signing on as a senior producer for FoxSports.com.
Warner Premiere, the newly created direct-to-DVD production arm of Warner Bros., has made several senior staff appointments under the direction of president Diane Nelson. Irika Slavin has been named senior vp marketing, Geoff Shaevitz is vp production, Sean Wimmer is vp postproduction, Stephanie Schroeder is vp business affairs, and Eva Davis is vp acquisitions. Slavin was vp global brand management at Warner Bros. Shaevitz was a production executive at Warner Bros. Pictures. Wimmer worked in Warner Bros.’ feature division as director of feature postproduction. Schroeder comes to Warner Bros. from Paramount Pictures, where she was vp business and legal affairs. Davis was vp acquisitions and multicultural marketing at Warner Home Video.
Erika Wangberg Burton has been appointed executive producer in the film division of effects house Rhythm & Hues. Burton, a 20-year industry veteran, has overseen Rhythm & Hues’ production of “Evan Almighty” and produced “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat.” Before joining Rhythm & Hues in 2002, she was at the Secret Lab/Dream Quest Images; from 1992-96, she worked at George Lucas’ Industrial Light + Magic.
