Tyler Labine has landed the lead in Fox’s comedy pilot “Sons of Tucson,” British actress Natalie Dormer has been tapped as the female lead on Fox’s drama pilot “Masterwork,” and Nickelodeon star Drake Bell is set as the lead on CBS’ comedy “The Fish Tank.”
In other pilot castings, Sara Rue has joined ABC’s drama “Eastwick,” Eion Bailey and Kristin Bauer have been added to CBS’ drama “House Rules,” and Richard Schiff has come on board Fox’s drama “The Reincarnationist.”
The 20th-produced “Tucson” centers on a thirtysomething man (Labine) hired by three boys to act as their father while their real one is in prison. The casting is in second position to the CW’s bubble dramedy “Reaper,” in which Labine plays slacker Bert. He is repped by CAA and Characters Talent Agency.
Sony TV’s “Fish Tank” centers on a suburban teenager (Bell) living alone in his family’s house. The casting of Endeavor-repped Bell lifts the contingency on the project.
20th’s “Masterwork” is a globe-trotting adventure in which a male FBI agent and a female MI5 agent (Dormer) team to recover the world’s most sought-after artifacts. “The Tudors” alumna Dormer is repped by ICM and U.K.’s Dallas Smith.
WBTV’s “Eastwick” revolves around three witches (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman) who come into their powers. Rue, repped by APA and Alan David, will play the best friend of Joanna (Price).
ABC Studios’ “House Rules” is about the freshman class of Congress. Bailey, repped by Paradigm and Robert Stein Management, is in negotiations to play a hotshot Wall Street player who enters politics as a Republican congressman. Bauer (“True Blood”) will play a newly elected Democrat from California who is estranged from her husband. She is repped by the Paul Kohner Agency and Kritzer Levine Wilkins.
On WBTV’s “Reincarnationist,” about investigators solving present mysteries caused by past-life traumas, Schiff will play a scientist, a legend in the field of reincarnation.
