Another instance of sexual harassment of a female Fox News employee has been resolved, as the network has settled a claim from former contributor Tamara Holder.
A male executive tried to force Holder to perform oral sex on him while they were alone in his office in 2015, according to The New York Times, which first reported the $2.5 million settlement.
The network has been hit with a barrage of complaints since Gretchen Carlson sued Fox claiming she was fired after complaining about sexual harassment by ousted CEO Roger Ailes. Carlson also reached a settlement with the network.
In January, another ex-anchor, Juliet Huddy, reportedly reached a six-figure settlement with the network that resolved complaints allegedly involving Bill O’Reilly. Fox has not yet reached an agreement with Andrea Tantaros, who is currently suing the network.
Fox and Holder released a joint statement Wednesday: “In September 2016 Fox News contributor Tamara Holder reported an incident of sexual assault at Fox News headquarters from the prior year. Immediately after Ms. Holder notified Fox News of the alleged incident, the Company promptly investigated the matter and took decisive action, for which Ms. Holder thanks the network.”
The statement added: “Following the completion of her contract on January 1, 2017, Ms. Holder left the network. Fox News is grateful to Ms. Holder for her many contributions during her tenure at the network and wishes her continued success.”
