PARIS — Gaumont has joined forces with French pay TV group Canal Plus in a new VOD content deal, the companies said Monday.
Gaumont’s library will be available as of this month through Canal Plus’ VOD service Canal Play.
Gaumont offerings include recent releases such as Christine Carriere’s “Darling,” in addition to upcoming titles such as Isabelle Mergault’s “The Merry Widow” released Jan. 16 in Gaul and Olivier Marchal’s Daniel Auteuil-starrer “MR 73” set for a March 26 release date in the territory.
Launched in 2005, Canal Play boasts a catalog of more than 3,500 videos, including 2,000 feature films and TV series including “Desperate Housewives” and kids programming from Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Jetix.
