HONG KONG — Granada TV, the international channel operated by the U.K.’s ITV Global Entertainment, has secured carriage in South Korea on SK Broadband’s IPTV platform. The deal is the channel’s first in northern Asia.
To secure Granada TV access to Korea’s other cable and IPTV platforms ITV Global Entertainment has appointed Nine Planners, a production and post-production company, as its exclusive distributor in Korea.
“Korea is one of the most dynamic markets on the Asia pay-TV landscape,” James Ross, regional director, Asia, ITV Global Entertainment said. “The agreement with SK Broadband will be an excellent platform from which to showcase the Granada TV concept of contemporary general entertainment.”
