TORONTO — The French film “Happy End” by brothers Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu is to close the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal on October 17, organizers said Thursday.
The French screenwriters-directors will bring their romantic drama, which stars Mathieu Amalric, Catherine Frot and Karin Viard, to Montreal after it screens at the Toronto International Film Festival, beginning Thursday night.
The brothers were last at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in 2004 with “To Paint or Make Love.”
The world premiere of Quebec director Claude Demers’ “Les Dames en Bleu” (Ladies in Blue) will open the Montreal festival on October 7.
The full lineup for the 38th edition of the Festival du Nouveau Cinema will be unveiled on September 22.
