HONG KONG — The Hong Kong International Film Festival launched a short film competition open for submissions from international filmmakers until December 31, 2009.
The competition, aimed to discover new talents and promote short films, will be part of the HKIFF 2010 lineup, held from March 21 to April 6, 2010. Entries for the competition are required to be shorter than 15 minutes.
The 8th Hong Kong Asia Film-Financing Forum, which provided a platform for Asian films such as Korean hit “The Good, the Bad, the Weird,” Cannes entry “Thirst” and the controversial and Chinese director Lu Chuan’s San Sebastian-winning “City of Life and Death” will also be held concurrently with the HKIFF. Deadline for online project entries is October 31, 2009.
