“Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” picked up the prize for TV editing and “300” was singled out for best color grading in a feature at the second annual Hollywood Post Alliance Awards, which took place Thursday night at Los Angeles’ Skirball Cultural Center.
Presented by the HPA, the awards are designed to foster awareness of post production, promote
creative and technical excellence and recognize achievements in post production.
The winners were: color grading, feature film in a DI process, “300,” Stefan Sonnenfeld (Company 3); color grading, TV, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Built to Kill, Part 1,” Paul Westerbeck (The Post Group); color grading- commercial, Nike, “Take Over,” Dave Hussey (Company 3).
Editing, TV, “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”, Michael Ornstein; editing, commercial, American Express, “Animals,” Chris Franklin (Big Sky Editorial).
Audio post, feature film, “The Bourne Ultimatum,” Karen Baker Landers & Per Hallberg (Soundelux) and Scott Millan & David Parker (Todd- AO West); audio post, TV, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Living Doll,” Mace Matiosian, Bill Smith, Yuri Reese, Ruth Adelman, Jivan Tahmizian and Chad Hughes (Todd-AO); audio post, commercial, STL, “Terrorism Has No Religion,” Jeff Levy (Margarita Mix Santa Monica).
Compositing, TV, “The Company,” “(Night 2),” Vit Komrzy, Viktor Muller, Miro Gal and Jiri Stamfest (Universal Production Partners); compositing, commercial, Honda Cruisers, “Free Yourself,” Patrick Poulatian, Yafei Wu and Robert Sethi (Brickyard VFX).
A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Fred Rheinstein, founder The Post Group. The Engineering Excellence Award went to Quantel’s Genetic Enginerring; KIWA’s VoiceQ received a Special Recognition Award.
