LONDON — ITV has appointed Jonathan Vandermeer to the post of controller of acquisitions, putting him in charge of commercial and legal negotiations relating to the acquisitions of movies, series and other content across all ITV channels, it was announced Tuesday.
The move comes after ITV said earlier this year it was retreating from acquisitions and parted company with former director of acquisitions Jay Kandola.
Vandemeer, in a more junior role, will report jointly to Zai Bennett, ITV director of digital channels and acquisitions, and Jonathan Rogers, commercial director, ITV Channels. Vandermeer will work closely with acquired film head Dave Hollis, head of acquired sales Sasha Breslau as well as with ITV’s commercial and scheduling teams.
