Josh Tickell, who directed the Sundance Film Festival award-winning documentary “Fuel,” has been named a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and will accept an award on Thursday, June 11 at the second annual IREO Renewable Energy Awards Gala, following the IREO Renewable Energy Conference, at the U.N. headquarters in New York.
The IREO (Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Organization) founded the annual event to honor those individuals and organizations who advance alternative energy solutions.
IREO is a proponent of clean and efficient energy sources combined with sustainable development and social awareness.
In “Fuel,” Tickell examines oil use in America. It begins its national theatrical rollout this September.
