Kevin Costner will take part in the third annual South Dakota Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 18-20 in Aberdeen, S.D. The actor/director will speak at the fest’s opening session and also participate in a filmmaker/student discussion.
“To commemorate the 20th anniversary of ‘Dances With Wolves,’ we invited Costner to share his perspective on the film-making experience and discuss his interest in South Dakota and the Native American culture,” said Lanni Zephier Smith, executive director of the Northern Route to the Black Hills Tourism Association.
“He’s played a very important role in advancing the film industry in South Dakota. We’re very privileged to have the opportunity to have him here and learn from his experiences,” said Troy McQuillen, festival co-producer.
