Kino Lorber has picked up North American rights to Farewell, Herr Schwarz, a German/Israeli documentary from director Yael Reuveny.
The film, which won the best documentary honor at the Haifa International Film Festival in 2013 and was named outstanding documentary at non-fiction festival Dok Leipzig, will have its New York premiere on Jan. 9.

Farewell, Herr Schwarz is Reuveny’s very personal look at her grandmother, Michla Schwarz, who, together with her brother Feiv’ke, were German Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. After WWII, Michla emigrated to Israel, while Feiv’ke stayed behind in the country that became communist East Germany.
Kino Lorber picked up the film from Cologne-based Rushlake Media.
