The recently launched Dolan Family Ventures has acquired Analytics Media Group and launched new measurement firm 605.
Dolan Family Ventures founder Kristin Dolan will serve as CEO of the firm, described as a “data and analytics company specializing in media and entertainment” that combines the technology and analytics expertise of Analytics Media with set-top box data from partners establish a “national independent audience measurement and analytics business.”
Ben Tatta, former president of Cablevision Media Sales, will be president of the new venture.
“605 has expansive relationships with partners across the country that provide extensive, privacy-protected, set-top box viewing data to ensure that its analysis is based on a vast and credible footprint of data representing key individual and regional demographics,” the company said.
“Our experience in the industry tells us there are major gaps in audience measurement and television analytics in the current marketing and programming landscape,” said Dolan. The company’s offers will fill “a critical need for media and entertainment businesses in today’s rapidly changing viewing landscape,” she added.
James Dolan, whose family used to own Cablevision Systems before its sale to European cable and telecom giant Altice, and wife Kristin had on Monday unveiled Dolan Family Ventures, saying it plans to make “focused investments in data, analytics and technology-based businesses.” James Dolan is an investor in and strategic advisor for DFV.
