It’s never a good sign for a celebrity when his or her lawyers ask to be relieved of their duties. Paris Hilton has had multiple legal teams on her side. And it seems like Michael Jackson has gone through half the litigators in West L.A. Today the AP brings this news:
“Britney Spears’ lawyers in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline are quitting. The law firm Trope and Trope asked a court Wednesday to be relieved as Spears’ attorneys. The firm says there’s been a ‘breakdown’ in communication with the pop princess that makes representing her ‘impossible,’ according to the filing, obtained by CelebTV.com.”
A cynic might question whether Spears can take care of her two sons if she can’t take care of her lawyers. Then again, she’s got a lot of legal issues at hand. A nasty divorce and custody battle. Commercial exploitation lawsuits. She could fund her own law firm. Anyone interested in joining? Anyone?
