Liberty Media has filed a court action to remove IAC InterActiveCorp. chairman and CEO Barry Diller from the IAC board of directors, the Wall Street Journal reported late Monday.
Diller votes Liberty shares in IAC, but Diller and Liberty, IAC’s controlling shareholder, are in a dispute over whether a planned spinoff of four units should go forward. IAC’s businesses include Ticketmaster, Ask.com, HSN and several assets. Liberty holds a voting stake in IAC by way of its entity BDTV; Liberty also is seeking to remove Diller as BDTV’s sole director.
