Josh Lucas has signed to topline “Tell-Tale,” Scott Free Prods.’ psychological thriller being directed by Michael Cuesta.
Inspired by the classic Edgar Allan Poe story “The Tell-Tale Heart,” the contemporized adaptation sees Lucas starring as a single father whose recently transplanted heart leads him on a frantic search to find the donor’s killer before a similar fate befalls him.
Producing are Scott Free’s Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and Michael Costigan as well as Social Capital Films’ Martin Shore and Christopher Tuffin.
Executive producing are Gordon Steel and John Baca of the Steel Co. along with Dave Callaham, Matthew Chausse and Scott Free’s Malcolm Reeve and Michael Ellenberg.
Hyde Park is handling the international rights and already has closed sales for South Korea, Eastern Europe, Benelux, Portugal, Greece, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, Middle East, Malaysia, Brazil, Mexico and Latin America. Deals are pending for several additional major territories.
Lucas recently wrapped production on the feature films “Death in Love” and “Boy in the Box,” the latter of which also was produced through his new production company, Two Bridges. Lucas is best known for his work in such movies as “Glory Road,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “The Hulk.”
