ROME — Francesco Manfio on Wednesday was named the new president of Cartoon Italia, the national association of cartoon content producers. Manfio had previously been vp of the Milan-based organization, which has 26 member companies.
The cartoon sector has taken on new importance in Italy recently, with the successful international release of “Winx Club,” the big-budget children’s cartoon film based on the hit television series.
