Director, writer and actor Matt Ross has signed with CAA.
Ross will direct and executive produce Starz’s upcoming Watergate anthology series Gaslit, which stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. The series is based on Slate’s award-winning Slow Burn podcast, with UCP producing the untold story of Martha Mitchell’s role in the Watergate scandal.
As an actor, Ross is best known for his roles on Silicon Valley and Big Love and the films The Aviator and American Psycho. On the directing front, Ross won the Un Certain Regard at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival for Captain Fantastic, which he wrote and helmed.
Viggo Mortensen starred and received a best actor Oscar nomination for his work on Captain Fantastic. Ross made his feature directorial debut with 28 Hotel Rooms, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
He continues to be represented by Peg Donegan at Framework Entertainment for acting and by Warren Dern at Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern, LLP.
