In a major management shuffle at Scandinavian giant Svensk Filmindustri, the managing directors of the company’s Danish and Norwegian operations are leaving the company.
Michael Fleischer, head of Svensk’s SF Film in Denmark, and Guttorm Petterson, managing director of SF Norge in Norway, have stepped down. Both have been with the company for more than a decade.
Since joining SF Film in 2000, Fleischer grew the operation into Denmark’s largest film distributor and expanded its operations into film and TV production. His production credits include Christoffer Boe‘s Everything Will be Fine (2010) and Bille August‘s Marie Kroyer (2012).
As managing director at SF Norge, a position he has held since 1999, Petterson oversaw the group’s successful Cold Prey horror and Varg Veum crime franchises, as well as critical hits such as Bent Hamer‘s Kitchen Stories (2003).
The two execs’ exit comes as a result of reorganization following the acquisition last year by Svensk parent company Bonnier Growth Media of Swedish-based shingle Tre Vanner, the group behind the hit Snabba Cash trilogy. Following the deal, Svensk and Tre Vanner merged, with Tre Vanner boss Jonas Fors taking over as CEO of the entire Svensk group, replacing longtime Svensk exec Rasmus Ramstad. There have been several executive shuffles since, with Fors setting up his own team at Svensk.
Under the new management structure at Svensk, managing directors will be replaced by country managers in each of the Nordic territories outside Sweden. Lars Bjorn Hansen will take over as country manager in Denmark and Bente Hagen Stokke in Norway. Lars Warelius, a former financial director at Svensk, returns to the company as country manager for Finland. All will report directly to Fors.
In addition, Svensk has Martin Brandtler, Thomas Schultz and Timo Raisanen as new sales and marketing managers for Sweden, Denmark and Finland, respectively, reporting to recently appointed head of Nordic sales Antti Toiviainen. Toiviainen will temporarily take over sales and marketing duties for Norway until that position is filled.
