NEW YORK — MySpace has signed a deal with Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios that will bring 10 channels to MySpaceTV.
The deal will bring Entertainment Studios programming like the syndicated shows “Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen,” “Entertainers With Byron Allen,” “Beautiful Homes and Great Estates” and “Designer Fashions & Runways” to the News Corp.-owned social networking site.
The site will be updated weekly and will be available in all 29 territories in which MySpace has a presence.
Entertainment Studios, founded by chairman and CEO Allen in 1993, produces, distributes and sells advertising for 15 TV programs. With more than 4,000 hours of owned content, the company said it is the largest independent producer/distributor of first-run syndicated television programming for broadcast stations.
MySpaceTV is also a distribution arm of Hulu, the NBC Universal/News Corp. joint online video venture, and it distributes content from BBC, National Geographic, Sony’s Minisode Network, the New York Times and others. In addition, it co-produces original programs like “Roommates” and “Special Delivery.”
