On Monday, 21st Century Fox’s Fox Networks Group said it has named former NBCUniversal top executive Colin McLeod general manager, Fox Networks Group U.K.
McLeod on Monday started on a part-time basis before transitioning into a full-time role early in the spring. He replaces Jeff Ford who, as previously unveiled, will continue with Fox Networks Group in a consulting role.
McLeod worked at NBCUniversal since 2007, most recently serving as managing director of the U.K. and emerging markets from 2015 until 2017.
Prior to joining NBCUniversal, he was commercial director across Central Eastern Europe for Sparrowhawk International Channels after working as director of affiliate sales and marketing for the Travel Channel in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. He also spent five years working with BBC Worldwide in affiliate sales and marketing.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to join Fox Networks Group and lead a portfolio of successful and distinct entertainment and documentary brands, which are well-positioned for the dynamic U.K. media market,” McLeod said.
Diego Londono, COO of Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa, said: “Colin’s blended background offers a well-rounded and hugely valuable experience to our business, and we have no doubt he will step into the role and immediately have an impact.”
Fox Networks Group U.K. operates four pay TV channel brands, namely Fox, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and BabyTV, along with digital services, such as NationalGeographic.co.uk. Across the region, FNG Europe and Africa operates 151 channels.
