New Line has hired longtime publicity vet Catherine Nam to serve as its vice president publicity and communications.
Nam is segueing from corporate sibling Warner Bros. Pictures, where she spent the last 13 years working in international publicity.
In her new position, Nam will spearhead communications for all of New Line’s operations, from corporate communications to managing the division’s philanthropic initiatives, while also will working closely with the domestic and international publicity teams at Warner Bros. to help shape the worldwide publicity campaigns for all New Line titles.
Nam will also provide communications support for Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, which is overseen by New Line president and COO Toby Emmerich. She will report to senior exec vp Carolyn Blackwood.
Nam first joined Warner Bros. Pictures in 2001 as part of the Warner Bros. Global Trainee Program. As a director of international publicity at Warner Bros. Pictures, she worked on the release and awards campaigns across 120 international territories on films ranging from The Hangover trilogy to The Hobbit trilogy.
Nams’ hiring follows the April departure of Candice McDonough, who acted as senior vp of publicity and corporate communications and is now at Relativity EuropaCorp Distribution.
