NEW YORK – News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch is bringing on a chief of staff to keep the mogul on top of meetings and some of his workload.
Natalie Ravitz, currently communications director for New York City’s Department of Education will take on the new role after wrapping up her current position late next week, sources confirmed a report of her hiring by the LA Times. A News Corp. spokesman didn’t comment further on her role.
Ravitz worked under former New York City schools chancellor Joel Klein, who joined News Corp. in 2010 as executive vp and a member of the Office of the Chairman. Klein is also heading up the entertainment conglomerate’s internal probe into the phone hacking scandal.
