CORRECTED 10:53 a.m. PT Nov. 1, 2007
FX’s “Nip/Tuck” got off to a good start with its fifth-season premiere Tuesday, drawing 4.3 million total viewers at 10 p.m., according to Nielsen Media Research’s Live+SD ratings data.
It also averaged 3.5 million total viewers in the adults 18-49 demo and 2.2 million adults 18-34, marking the highest delivery in 18-34 in FX history.
In addition, “Nip/Tuck” ranked as cable’s most-watched program in total viewers and both demos and came in at No. 2 in all of primetime — including broadcast — in 18-34, behind only Fox’s “House.”
Compared with the Season 4 premiere (Live+7), the Season 5 bow (Live+Same Day) was up 10% in 18-34 (2.2 million vs. 2 million), down 5% in 18-49 (3.5 million vs. 3.7 million) and off 16% in total viewers (4.3 million vs. 5.1 million).
However, FX said that when Live+7 data becomes available, the fifth-season premiere should “easily outperform” the Season 4 bow.
