“Oceans 3D — Into the Deep,” a digital 3-D documentary from filmmakers Jean-Jacques and Francois Mantello, has been sold in 51 territories. While 3D Entertainment retains all rights for the U.S. and Canada, Wild Bunch is handling foreign sales.
Distributors by territory for “Oceans 3D” include: Gaga Communications in Japan; Eagle, Italy; New Vision, China; Deltamac, Hong Kong; Filmware International, Taiwan; Festive Film, Singapore; Wanda Distribucion Cinematografica, Spain; Monolith, Poland; Spentzos Film, Greece, Luxor Entertainment, Russia and CIS; Fivia in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; Bir Film, Turkey; Acme, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania; Best Hollywood, Hungary; Hollywood Classic Entertainment, Czech Republic; Independenta Film, Romania; Lusomundo, Portugal; Orlando Films, Israel; Video Vision, South Africa; Europa Cine, Brazil and Europa Filmes in other countries of South America and Queen Films, Indonesia.
Wild Bunch’s Gallic distribution arm plans to launch the film in digital 3-D in the summer.
The film, the result of six years of production, 25 challenging expeditions and 200 hours of footage, is in postproduction and is expected to be completed by Cannes’ film market in May.
“Oceans 3D” is presented by Jean-Michel Cousteau and endorsed by the United Nations Environment Program. Produced by 3D Entertainment and McKinney Underwater Prods., it is directed by Jean-Jacques Mantello with underwater cinematography by Gavin McKinney and an original score by Christophe Jacquelin.
