PARK CITY — Sundance documentary feature competition entry “Traces of the Trade: A Story From the Deep North” has been picked up by PBS docu showcase program, P.O.V.
In the film, director Katrina Browne traces her roots back to the DeWolfs, the largest slave trading family in American history. Her ancestors brought more than 10,000 Africans into slavery.
Alla Kovgan and Jude Ray served as co-directors on the project. The film was largely financed by the Ford Foundation. It is likely to premiere on P.O.V. — which debuts some some 15 docu features annually — later this year.
CAA repped the filmmakers in the deal.
