PMK*BNC is launching a department dedicated to helping clients manage their personal brands. The new unit, which will work closely with the public relations firm’s entertainment division as an opt-in service for its clients, will be led by talent marketing expert Bill Sanders.
Sanders comes to PMK*BNC from BDA Sports Management, where as chief marketing officer he matched his clients with international brands like Coca-Cola, American Express, Apple, Guinness and Bridgestone. He will bring a roster that includes actors, models and sports personalities to his new agency, although he will share joint representation for client Yao Ming with BDA.
“Our talent clients are constantly looking to their representation teams for opportunities to expand their businesses,” PMK*BNC co-chair and CEO Michael Nyman said in a statement. “Our role has evolved to include the holistic management of an individual’s personal brand.”
Sanders’ team will tailor individual marketing strategies for PMK*BNC’s clients, identifying and brokering marketing, endorsement, public speaking and equity opportunities outside their main sources of revenue.
“The work I do really isn’t about what field a client works in but rather who he or she is as an individual, and how connected they are to their fan base,” said Sanders, a former vp theatrical sales/general sales manager at Lionsgate and Trimark, in a statement. “And in my view, no one has a stronger, broader and more marketable client roster than PMK*BNC.”
