COLOGNE, Germany — Veteran German TV executive Rudiger Boss has been named the new senior vp of group programming acquisitions at pan-European broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1, the company announced Wednesday.
In his new position, Boss will be responsible for licensing series and films for the group’s 50 or so free and pay TV channels across 13 European countries.
The move is a result of ProSieben’s recent $4.4 billion acquisition of SBS Broadcasting. Boss has long been head of acquisitions for ProSiebenSat.1’s family of German TV channels.
Boss will report to Jan Frouman, the newly named head of German TV and group content acquisitions at ProSiebenSat.1.
Bart Soepnel, former acquisitions head at SBS, will leave the company.
