Ron Perlman will host the SAG Foundation’s “Actors Fore Actors” inaugural New York Golf Classic on Monday, October 7th at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, the foundation announced on Tuesday. He’ll be joined by celebrities and entertainment executives including Kyle MacLachlan, Peter Gallagher, Richard Kind, Alysia Reiner and Dan Lauria.
The event will benefit the SAG Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and Assistance programs.
“The SAG Foundation is a phenomenal organization that helps my fellow union brothers and sisters in times of emergency,” said Perlman. “I’m looking forward to hosting the first New York Golf Classic so that the SAG Foundation can continue to make a difference by responding swiftly when crises arise.”

Integrated Wealth Management has signed on as presenting sponsor of the inaugural New York Golf Classic after four successful Los Angeles tournaments. Since 2009, the SAG Foundation has raised over $1.1 million for its Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance programs.
“Integrated Wealth Management is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the SAG Foundation’s inaugural New York Golf Classic,” said Jim Casey, the company’s president and CEO. “We think it is important to support the SAG Foundation’s charitable efforts in order to provide a vital safety net for performers in need.”
In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, the SAG Foundation partnered with the AFTRA Foundation and the Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund to form the “Superstorm Sandy Emergency Assistance Fund.” The SAG Foundation mobilized to raise over $135,000 in disaster relief for New York and New Jersey SAG-AFTRA performers and their families. Perlman helped spearhead the efforts with a call-to-action public service announcement.

The SAG Foundation has also had an ongoing presence in New York for many years providing no-cost educational programming to union performers. In 2012, the SAG Foundation offered over 220 free workshops, seminars and events for 9,500 performers. This coming December, the SAG Foundation will open the New York Actors Center that will include a voice-over lab, computer lab, classroom and office space to house the SAG Foundation’s expanding programming.
“We are thrilled to be hosting our first major fundraiser in the New York, and we are looking forward to raising the profile of one of the best-kept secrets in town,” said JoBeth Williams, SAG Foundation president.

The Screen Actors Guild Foundation provides assistance and educational programming to members of SAG-AFTRA while serving the public at large through its children’s literacy programs. Founded in 1985, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation is a national non-profit organization, independent from SAG-AFTRA, that relies solely on support from grants, corporate sponsorships and individuals to maintain its programs and create new ones.
