MOSCOW — The Russian World Studios (RWS), a leading Russian production and studio company, has announced a new project, “Vasilisa Kozhina,” a co-production with France.
The historic drama set during the aftermath of the 1812 war between Russia and Napoleon’s France is to go into production next year.
Renowned Russian director Dmitry Meskhiev is to direct the movie, which is to become a priority project for RWS.
“We are currently in negotiations about the co-production with several foreign companies,” Yuri Sapronov, RWS’ general director, told The Hollywood Reporter, but he wouldn’t name the companies at this point.
The picture’s budget has not yet been announced either, but RWS said it that the production is to be “large-scale.”
