BERLIN — Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones concert film “Shine a Light” will start up the 58th annual Berlin International Film Festival, with the Oscar-winning director and the veteran rock stars all scheduled to attend the Feb. 7 premiere.
The film, a compilation of two live concerts at New York’s Beacon Theater in 2006, includes special guest performances from Christina Aguilera, White Stripes frontman Jack White and blues legend Buddy Guy.
The “Shine a Light” camera team includes several Oscar winners, among them Robert Richardson (“The Aviator”), John Toll (“Braveheart”) and Andrew Lesnie (“The Lord of the Rings”).
“Shine a Light” was produced by Stones tour promoter Michael Cohl’s Concert Promotions International and Steve Bing’s Shangri-La Entertainment
German indie distributor Kinowelt will release the film in Germany.
